IPM-Compliant Pest Control for Schools
Florida statute 1006.147 and FDACS rule 5E-14 require that schools and licensed daycares use Integrated Pest Management — meaning monitoring and least-toxic interventions instead of routine pesticide application. Our school programs are designed from the ground up around this requirement: inspection-first, exclusion-focused, with chemical use only when necessary and only with products approved for school environments.
How Our School Program Works
- Quarterly inspections of every classroom, hallway, cafeteria, and outdoor area
- Exclusion work — sealing entry points instead of spraying
- Monitoring stations — sticky traps and rodent monitors in low-traffic areas
- Targeted treatment only as needed — gel baits, dusts, granular baits placed where children can't reach
- Documented parent notification 48 hours before any chemical application
- After-hours service — most treatments at night or on weekends
Products Approved for School Use
We exclusively use products on the Florida Schools IPM Approved List — boric acid, fipronil bait gels, hydramethylnon baits, and similar low-toxicity options. We never apply broadcast sprays inside classrooms. Outdoor applications follow re-entry interval requirements (typically 24 hours) and are scheduled around weekends and holidays.
Documentation Required by FDACS
- IPM plan tailored to your campus
- Service records signed by the licensed technician for every visit
- EPA labels and SDS sheets on file in the school office
- Annual review meeting with your facilities team
- FDACS inspection-ready record binder kept on-site
Daycares & After-School Programs
Licensed daycares (DCF-regulated) and after-school programs follow similar IPM protocols. We coordinate with your director on application timing, child re-entry windows, and parent notification — making sure your facility stays compliant with DCF inspection requirements.
Pricing
School pricing depends on campus size, building count, and outdoor acreage. Typical Miami-area elementary schools pay $250–$600/month; high schools and large campuses scale up from there. Most daycares fall between $95–$200/month. Request a school quote — we'll need address, square footage, and student count.
